The foundation gives a scholarship to a senior in the Oklahoma City Metro. Through this Scholarship, we provide a student with an opportunity to achieve their goal of higher education. This Scholarship is built on the principles of opportunity, personal success, and leadership. This is a need-based scholarship for students who are putting effort into receiving a higher education. This Scholarship is given to honor Gregorio Lopez, Evalia Huerta, Roberto Lara, and Ana Rosa Lara, who all believed in a better future.

Fulmer Trombone Scholarship

Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be graduating seniors of a high school that participates in the Central Oklahoma Guidance Counselor Network.
  • Applicants must have an unweighted GPA greater than or equal to 3.0.
  • Applicants must be eligible to participate or be enrolled in a college/university band or orchestra during their freshman year (full-time study at a 4 year institution).
  • Preference may be given to trombone players.

·         Financial need is considered.

Funds may be used by full-time students for tuition, fees and books at any accredited, not-for-profit 4-year college or university. Payments are made directly to the school.

This scholarship was established in 2014 to honor the aspirations and values of Mr. Fred Fulmer and to support scholarships that encourage the pursuit of post-secondary education.

Award: $2,000

Deadline: 2/15/2020

 After completing the General Application/Student Profile, applicants must submit the Supplemental Questions (below) to complete the application:

1.       Either select Option 1: Upload a digital file of a personal performance.

2.       Or select Option 2: Enter the URL of an online recording of a personal performance.

3.       Please submit the name and email address of a high school band director or orchestra director who has agreed to submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf that addresses your talent and accomplishments in music.



The WEOKIE Foundation will award 25 graduating high school seniors a $2,000 scholarship for college or vocational school. Click here for the application process.
